What is LocalBeacon?
LocalBeacon is a customizable mobile platform that includes a native iPhone application component, and a web based content management system. Using LocalBeacon, you can produce custom iPhone applications that can be deployed on the app store, or published via the LocalBeacon engine. After your app is published, you can edit your content using our CMS.
What kinds of apps can I build?
Our platform gets used for a lot of things, including large multimedia festival applications, blogs, and many other types of applications. We've built medical applications, tour guides, reference applications and many more. What does it cost?
It depends! For a simple blog, you'll be paying about what a hosting company would charge you. For the "whole enchilada" full enterprise, supported treatment, the cost would be significantly more.
If you want an idea of the orders of magnitude, a simple blog/twitter app would cost you about 60$/year. A mid-range app with light integration/customization would cost between $500 and $1000 to produce, and a monthly charge that would be anywhere from $20-100/month.
For apps that are sold on the app store, we can work out a revenue sharing agreement that will greatly reduce your upfront cost and make your app profitable quickly.
Our largest enterprise offering, used by large companies and resellers costs significantly more, but much less than if you had to build the app from scratch or hire a full time programmer to maintain it!
